broke the trans in silver1 on the way home today. its stuck in 4th, got it home and infront of the shop now tho. quite sure the shift fork broke.
ordered two each of the mazda 1/2 and 3/4 new forks from tasca.
will probably swap the trans that came out of TheEvilZX2 before these forks get here to get this back on the road. maybe i should get a rebuild kit from cobra for this trans before i fix the forks and put it back into service, this trans had almost 300k when it was installed in silver1 a good few years ago

I've had the SR on the jack stands to replace the clutch (ordered 2 Advanced Clutch, Performance Street on EBay) cleaning and painting parts in the meantime.
I'm trying to modify a Fidanza to fit the car as well.

A used one I bought on TeamZX2 about 15 years ago, it has 35 dowel pins that sit about 3/16 too high. Maybe for a Mazda?

I've had my fiddy on TheEvilZX2 about as long, got it straight from them though so no issues using it all these years. Today I ordered the rebuild kit from Cobra transmissions, it's a partial rebuild kit. Says a bearing and bearing cup hasn't been available for a long time

i recall reading someone from tzx2 years ago having to modify his fiddy to fit. pretty sure it was a similar issue with the dowels.

Finished machining the Fiddy yesterday...and ready to install...get a text from the shop re the 2001Black with a parts list. I inquired further and all were stock items! No, I said. The Fiddy I was about to install went with the performance parts I had laying around...so I cleaned and painted the parts for the S/R. I suppose tomorrow will be gardening while I wait.

They believe it is the CPS and flywheel relationship issue.

put another rear main seal in Silver1 earlier today. it went in a bit more snugly even with the OTC tool so probably that old seal just wasnt good to begin with, it went on but sure seemed to drop most of the way in then snugged up. this one was snug all the way.
trimmed some of the "heatshield" from the fuel filter housing for heater hose clearance for SVTF IM. then removed the heatshield under the car as most of it was rusted out and rattling on the exhaust and shifter/stabilizer. found out i need to fix the shifter falling thru the floor in silver1 now as the heatshielf was pretty much holding it up lol
my buddy stopped by with silver3 and we built the beginning of v2 Super Stock intake. trimmed and fit a 2.75 silicone elbow and a 2.75 45 alum pipe, trimmed and fitted an alum 2in to 3in reducer to fit the pipe and welded then welded in a 3/8 elbow fitting for brake booster and finally fitted a 3in to 3.5in silicone elbow to fit the stock airbox. didnt get any pics but it sounded pretty good with the milk jug and stock airbox fully intact. he called me on his way home and said it feels great so we'll continue with the rest of the airbox later. he has an SVTF header on the way and will be getting the 2.5 in exhaust built soon, he had to get a 2.5 straight thru muffler cuz the shop didnt have one in stock so we found him a vibrant stainless steel unit. still havent secured an X4 for him yet. people on FB marketplace are flakey

pic hosting site is down right now so can't post pics. will edit this later when it is back up decided to put some more work into this 99 i am putting back together. got a low mile engine from a 2003 with a bad idler pulley. It appears the idiots who did the work on it cross-threaded the hole because dumbasses and too lazy to remove center timing cover. This is a common issue and one i warn noobs about all the time but for some reason they dont listen. Oh well, an 03 had to die with less than 25k on it because of this and some other issues. This is me modifying the cover so it does not need to come off next time i cleaned the engine up quite a bit so i dont have to touch the oily mess that it was. this is another thing i tell people not to do but, again, here we are. Poor 03 did not stand a chance. damn silicone was all over this. The leakage was bad. The spark plug valley was full of oil which surely caused a misfire before the timing pulley broke after installing flywheel and new clutch decided to do this the hard part of this fix for the 99 is all the wrong fasteners installed and wrong parts installed. Installing all the correct parts is a good feeling knowing it is done correctly. This thing has a modified sedan trans from zxtuner installed two bolts dont line up and that part sucks as they hold the inspection plate which holds the cat and keeps it from breaking the manifold also fixed this part properly. f'real, who does this sort of thing and thinks it is okay?

no word from tasca on the forks yet These guys are terrible and you can't get a hold of them, except the chat option that is useless. Be prepared to be disappointed. Ford parts midget is even worse...

Ford parts midget is even worse... theyve been good to me in the past, and i got some of the last motorcraft zetec water pumps from them earlier this year. hope i dont get burned this go around. just hoping they make it here. probably will throw the 98 trans that came out of TheEvilZX2 (prior to LSD trans rebuild) to get it back on the road and hurry up and wait for parts

silver1 was done saturday. drove it most of the day sunday. started up to go to work this morning and the starter was running away again so took silver2 to work.
got home and cobra transmission rebuild kit was delivered
moved silver1 to the shop with the starter running, shut it off and it wont do it again. similar to last time it did this. so might need a starter here soon

that is a good deal for the starter. I should have purchased an alternator from them as those are inexpensive right now there too. all, i did was vacuum out little green car, adjust trunk latch. Darn thing was bent. I just never really noticed because never used this car. Up until just recently this car had only added less than 3 miles driven since getting this car about 10 years ago so just always slammed trunk shut. A tell-tale sign was the plastic cover for the latch was missing. Will do the wipers in a little bit. I'm going to enjoy a soda right now

Mimino's linked BBB starters are what I was looking at as the BBB reman alternators have been good to me so far. Price is more than right right now. I'll probably buy at least 2....maybe more

Silver1 ate an ATX speedo gear on the trans I bought it with. Lasted good long while like that without even opening it up lmao
Speaking of silver1 it didn't start today. Push started and moved to the shop and verified it's not turning still so as long as it's still that way when I get home I should be able to finally determine the cause.
Driving silver2
