Have had the project car parked down beside the barn at the moment (concrete pad, shielded from weather) but might need to devote time to moving it into the barn. A piece of the siding came off the barn and took the drivers mirror off. Also on the daily I replaced the radiator, set the rear alingment, fixed the radio (someone plugged the antenna in the wrong spot on the aftermarket unit), and replace the front trans mount while radiator was out. All in all a pretty good Saturday!

Lol no I made some plates out of plastic lids coated in grease on the bottom on a chunk of osb it's actually pretty slick bounce the suspension and it shifted easy enough. And I used string and Jack stands I dont have the budget yet for a proper kit or to do camber so I just set toe. Set the rear dead strait and the front with 1/16th of and inch of toe in. Steering wheel isn't 100% centered but drives nice. I could do better on a machine but I dont have access to one anymore.

That's pretty cool how you made it from all that.

Back when I was wrenching on diesels we used to rough in an alignment with the wheels sitting on two pieces of cardboard with grease sandwiched in between. Then we'd drive them to get a final alignment on a machine.
Too tedious for me doing it with a string and tape measure, I'll just pay a few bucks for a computerized alignment lol

Really? Where did you find a tool for 60$, I was having a hard time finding a decent looking kit for less then 300$. Lol it was a little tedious but drives 10x better now. want to keep an eye on the mpg and see how much it effected it. Yeah those machines are nice I loved getting to use those and the one shop still would let me swing in after hours and run one I just dont get into town often.

A guy sells home made aluminium toe plates for like $40 bucks. I use the $10 camber gauge that connects to your wheel hub.

Rear brake swap. Still need to check toe, adjust parking brake and see if I can bleed the brakes more.

Thinking about reducing my car "collection" I bought a red 2000 s/r a few monthes back to restore but have too many cars and projects going on would anyone possibly be interested in it for parts or rebuild? I would be looking for around $700-$800 Both rockers are rusted out has 319xxx on the odometer.
I'll post some pics later.

Replaced the timing belt, pullies, tensioner, and front crank seal on the 98 zx2. Also gave her a well deserved oil change. No glitter in the oil still feels to have decent vescocity with no grit in it, about 3500 miles, it looks like oil out of a diesel though. Dark and all, Idk havent had the car long yet so maybe its just old engine (180k miles) or maybe there is something going on Ill have to monitor that. Ford filter and 5w30 synthetic

Fun night. We chopped the roof off with the windshield, chopped the rear glass out, cut around the rocker panels to save, then cut the floor out.
I'm going to keep the front and rear of the car to mockup projects and do things without using a zx2.
Were gonna pull my friends turbo regal in the shop and strip and redo everything now that space is getting freed up

Anybody have feedback on lighten flywheel on our car? Does it make it undriveable? Curious for future reference as I wonder how much it "frees up" power

Been doing pretty good over here, considered essential at work so atleast I'm not laid off yet. Fixed the pressure washer and collected some car wash stuff so once it dries out a little will have to see how presentable the beater can look lol. A lightened flywheel has been on my mind for a while I just cant justify that yet with all the work on the house. Wish there was more clutch options for us too like twin plate and the like.

Use meguires ulimate compound on the car. The stuff is amazing and of course it's chrisfix approved (YouTube Star).

i wish ACT still made the pressure plate and clutch disc for us, i ran a few back in the day and loved them. im on a centerforce clutch disc in the turbo car now with an ACT HD pressure plate. not sure what im gonna do next, it still holds the 220tq of the turbo car for now, but what about in another 100+hp?
i dont really have the funds to pursue this now, but when i get to that higher hp/tq number im considering contacting xclutchusa.com they have a stage 1 sprung organic option available for the ZX2 listed in their catalog, but would probably have to work with them to get anything more than that. gotta be honest, i saw the clutch they made for rob dahm in the 4 rotor build and started looking into them after that.

That's what makes me nervous about this car is the lack of support as time goes on.
