So my tapatalk on the phone no longer will connect to the site, seems tapatalk ditched some car sites and maybe we did too idk. ill lookin into it more when i can so pics will be a little light from me since im lazy and have to upload to imgur now. if anyones interested i do post that stuff on discord while im in the shop working on it
anyhow i wired up some dodge coils and connected with a deutsch connector so its swappable into the SVTX2 frankenharness. started on some bracketry for them.
got the billet DSI lever in yesterday so installed that with the spring that a guy on FB sent me. ordered a clip for the DSI lever from mcmaster carr. can now move onto wiring the IMRC and figuring out this intellitronix window switch.
still need to redo the heater core line and make that connect.
im making a throttle cable bracket and i have a good idea on how im connecting the ZX2 throttle cable to the SVT throttle body, just waiting for a delivery for that...

darn 1383 popped up so I had to adjust the cams, timing belt to make it go away. Hopefully it stays away now. Going to drive the car to set all the codes and get emissions testing done It was the first drive of the car after this fram oil filter?! blasphemy!

so my code 1383 keeps popping back up. I now have an issue with the temp gauge. I replaced the sensors and the gauge is still hosed. I tested and replaced the gauge and same result. Tested the sensors again by plugging them into loose sensors not in thermostat house, gauge went back to normal. Installed those sensors into housing, temp gauge messed up again found two wires not looking so good so separated them to ensure they dont touch. Gauges go back to normal. Install everything once again and start car, gauges hosed again. Lol electrical problems. I'm just going to replace this part of the harness since it is all plug and play and see if that resolves the issues. Fingers crossed because i think this is the problem with the 1383 code popping back up

No work done yesterday, twas the wife and my 5th wedding anniversary I started today on reenforcing the crossmember for the SVTF header swap but ran out of SS MIG wire, ordered more moved on. Started working on the throttle cable connection but stopped because I've got a ported duratec focus TB on the way and the linkage is different from the SVTF apparently. Neither will work for ZX2 use so if I'm going to modify a TB linkage it will be the ported one I do believe. wired the intellitronix window switch to a deutsch connector in preparation for working on that side of the wiring. I'm hoping that it will be happy with the tach signal from the factory PCM removed the ZX2 heater core line and had a 5/8 alum line roughly bent up but i bent it pretty bad testing. so im going to probably change how its routed a little bit vs factory. have 10AN to 5/8 nipples for when I figure out how I'm going to route this

i decided to get the temp gauge working again. I knew it was in the wiring but did not realize how bad the wiring was. Here is what it looked like under the shielding after fixing the wiring the gauge is back into its normal position unfortunately there was a casualty in the process and a good example why i tell people to upgrade theirs to the 98 style next on the list is to remedy the p1383 as that no longer appears to be wiring related

Yeah the later thermostat housings suck, everyone please replace these if you haven't already.
Sucks on the p1383. Silver2 was failing internally in the VCT solenoid and after 1 warmup and working properly would then get shut off and then wouldn't get any ohm reading on my meter. Only ZX2 I've had with VCT issues in 20 years and 6 ZX2s so I'm ok with that

been working on the throttle connection issue. found a ported duratec TB on ebay and bought it, theyre the same as the SVT TB but different linkage and i cant use either so im going with it. when welding up the throttle cam i robbed from another TB i bought i melted a return spring. shoulda taken it apart to weld but i was trying not to. so i bought another TB and will use its return spring to put this all back together. worked a bit today cleaning it all up and smoothing some things out

Dtec replacement TB was supposed to be delivered yesterday, it hasn't been. Its stuck in a DC distribution center somewhere so I didn't get that done this weekend. Cleaned up the shop a bit and drove TheEvilZX2 a few times yesterday. The clutch is officially broken in as per mileage according to SPEC. Gave my MIL a ride in it .Cleaned up the shop a bit more and parked it next to the SVTF to open up some more room to work. Instead of feeling like I didnt get much done yesterday I decided to swap the wifes Green Z to BAX3 PCM and tuned with "BEST FREE TUNE ATX" if anyone remembers that from the TeamZX2 days. Then I replaced her serpentine smooth and ribbed idler pulleys (tensioner idler was fine). While under the car noticed the ZXtuner 2-1 pipe is cracked at the mount to the trans/windage tray, so ill need to fix that....really wish i could find another one of those to replace it. Anyhow test drove and the car feels good, shifting is REALLY tight now. Going to test today on a longer drive and see how she likes it. If this is too tight shifting for her liking I made two more tunes last night changing only the ATX shift settings and flashed those to her X4. If she wants to she can reflash to any of the three ATX shift settings

Got that dtec throttle body delivered today so I cannabilized it for spring and spring isolator and reassembled the ported one with my modified linkage for use in ZX2. It took some tweaking and some hand smoothing to get to fully close and open smoothly, but I've got all that moving smoothly now. Quite sure it's issues were from it being ported and previously modified and or maybe my welding warped the throttle stop slightly. Anyhow here it is installed Tomorrow I'll start welding up the throttle cable and COP bracketry. Pretty sure that will complete the "kit" to drop an SVTF IM into a ZX2. Once I'm done making a heater core line anyhow....

finally got started on the 99 engine i got for the 99 i am going to put back together. Took off most of the accessories and cleaned them up. Will try to remove engine from van tomorrow when the sun is out. Unfortunately i broke the oil dipstick so i have to replace that surprisingly this engine still had the original clutch on it and it did not look too bad at all. The head is real clean on this engine but the short block is dirty. Not too uncommon so i'll investigate to see if the head is replacement or has otherwise been off the block. It is a 98 head on what appears to be a 99 block but so was one of the 99 sr i used to have with original engine so this may be something like that. Either way, this style head is correct for the 99 application it is being installed into so im good with that. the accessories are real dirty too. Not really oily necessarily, but dirty from oil and dirt and about 25 years outside. This engine was from a crashed car so it should still be good as well as the trans which was still connected to it yay will probably do some work on the 02 and this engine tomorrow

Weeks ago I ordered this as a test and it was delivered yesterday: 3mirrors Aluminum Oil Dipstick Pull Handle Engine Oil Level Dipstick Handle Compatible with Dodge Chrysler Jeep Models Universal Engine Oil Dipstick Handle w/Viton O Ring & Installation Kit Yellow a.co/d/8ZtXhjMIt works as a replacement handle for our dipstick. So that should mean that Dodge/Chrysler 5.7 dipstick handles will fit our dipstick. Drill the hole out and notch the back of the stick and then install set pin. I literally just put one in last night. It looks like the SVTF dipstick handle. Fitting because I kept breaking dipsticks with the SVTF header installs because of bending the dipstick tube causing the stick to flex and get stuck breaking the handle where the oring sits. Anyhow I put this one in the turbo car and will find a fancy one for this car then this will go to Silver1. See here:

I've slowed down a bit on actually working but have continued gathering parts.
I've now got a 14point7 spartan 3 lite v2 wideband controller for whatever car gets the SVTF IM swap. Now have a NMSTec PSC and a new (to me {used}) electric over hydraulic nissan pump to try and figure out how to fit the turbo car as the volvo pumps are no longer recommended.
Hoping today to test wire up the intellitronix digital window switch for the SVTF IMRC, this wiring is the last electrical piece of the puzzle to complete the SVTF IM swap for this little kit

150 cluster installed in silver2 (thanks dareall!) And swapped all the LED bulbs over as well. Test wired up the digital window switch and it's working so need to power the IMRC and connect it to this things output and then it will all be ready to swap into a ZX2 for use! I had just started the car so it's high idling and is showing "1200" in the pic, the camera just doesn't like the led refresh rate lol

or
put screwdriver in teeth of flywheel and line up with freeze plug. This will keep engine from turning when using socket to remove the bolts

i still have not gone outside to do anything except put another set of speakers in the back seat to replace them. I'll probably replace them tomorrow just to get it over with. EDIT: i did do something. I wanted to repaint these hub caps to make the car look better. These wheels are trash so I've been contemplating putting factory aluminum wheels on the car. I did have a set of factory steel wheels from a 97 wagon with good tires so I put those on in the meantime (free is free ). Really had a hard time deciding because the hub caps needed a lot of work and the other hub caps i have are just as bad as these. so to help with my decision I decided to check out what is available. I was considering putting a set of the small center caps as I did on my black 98 but those are really only for 98 as they were used on the most base of the base cool models which the black car was those small caps look nice but it would mean that i would have to paint the wheels silver to match. I guess i could just leave them black and use the silver cap for some contrast so i started looking for a clean set. I found a set in the local yard but the lug nuts were all gone so i kept the search going. I ended up finding a new chrome set for a 4door for the same price I was looking at for the small caps. I don't have all 4 hub cap lug nuts but don't really need them (even though I may have them I just need to look through the bucket of lug nuts i have). Here is what they look like. these things look very nice because they are new and were still in the factory plastic. I'll take a picture of them installed on the car tomorrow in the daylight.
