looks like fordpartsgiant is out of these nuts... ordered one from tasca just now (no idea if they actually have it). If Tasca is out of the nuts, let me know. I MIGHT have a few take offs and the likelihood of the punched in part being in the same spot as yours is slim. Also, I have the correct size taps to make the nuts. I was going to make some if these last year, but didn't get around to them. If there's some interest I could do a short run of them.

Called a local mazda dealer and they ordered it for me, picking it up today hopefully. also have some coming from tasca on ebay (couldn't cance in time). i can mail that one over to you, if you want. it's the secondary shaft (output) one.
edit: picked up the nut today. perfect fit. 32mm and not 27 like mentioned in that teardown.

well, the part i was worried the most about was easiest to fix lmao grinded the stud off with ease, then drilled a hole with a 5/16" bit and tapped that sonbitch. new smaller 10x1.25mm bolt went in there like butter. covered that sucker with anti-seize with the rest of 'em. i think the longest part of this deal was taking the pilot bearing out... that sucker was welded inside for good. first i tried the grease method, which was a total disaster. Then i started plugging it up with toilet and newspaper lol also nothing. finally went to HF and bought me a blind hole puller kit with a sliding hammer, which took it out in less than a minute. I wish I'd rebuilt the bearings and synchros while this thing was apart. Don't even know how that didn't cross my mind. The kit (https://cobratransmission.com/m5txa-synchro-bearing-gasket-and-seal-kit-50125007-1) is very affordable. My third grinds (2/3 shift) a bit now (even at lower rpm). Not sure what's up with that, as it didn't do it (that much) when it was in the car prior. It seems to be getting better. Maybe the fluid (redline MTL) needs to work itself into the gears? I haven't driven the car out of the neighborhood yet lol If this thing goes down again, then it's rebuild time + i'll weld a plug into the 5th gear cover for easy fluid fill. What were they thinking with that angled fill hole? haha Also, suggest getting some of this permatex if anyone ever needs an awesome sealer: www.amazon.com/Permatex-51813-Anaerobic-Gasket-Maker/dp/B0002UEONM very forgiving and doesn't cure when air is present. I've used it on this tranny and oil pan before. Beautiful stuff.

sometimes i amaze myself with my ghetto fixes lol used two screws and ran them into the housing, then attached some wires and ran them up. picture was before i wrapped it in electrical tape. i have regained reverse lights.
crossmember new bolt :
Clutch/PP/FLywheel pics.
I think when we threw this flywheel in back in 2011, we didn't even resurface it..facepalm. You can see it blued a little in some spots. It also lost a dowel pin... I remember back in 2012 or so, I heard a nasty pin-ball-like sound inside the tranny. I for sure thought that was the end of that trans, but when I took it apart earlier this month, the dowel left some scrathes (see below) on the bellhousing and pressure plate. That's about it. It was nowhere to be found, tho...
Clutch wasn't too terrible, but the springs had lost tension and can be moved freely by hand.
Pressure Plate looks similar to the flywheel.
TOB left some pretty good indents behind. It was wobbly as fuck when i took it out. Timken should fare much better, given its design (sits inside of the housing, not the outside like the old piece of shit).

That anaerobic sealer is great! It works well for sealing two machined surfaces where no gasket is used. Just dont use it to fill gaps like regular silicone sealant, it'll never go off. I use it on my T5 and TKO transmission builds. Also good for sealing bolt threads

ive always had bad results with that red anaerobic stuff. maybe the surfaces on those old transmissions just werent flat enough anymore for it to work, IDK. thats what the shop used so we used it and the damn things always leaked! it was fleet maintenance though so maybe it was just job security... personally i just use a good permatex rtv and ive never had any issues. to each their own, but if yall are having good results with it maybe ill give it a try again in the future...when i run out of rtv
