Just a quick write up on swapping the unlit ZX2 PW/PDL switches to the lit Cougar units.
First and foremost is what to grab from the yard-obviously the 99-00 Cougar switches but also the wiring pigtails with 6" of extra wire.
A bit tricky is the switches themselves. I recommend getting them fixed in place first. There are two tabs on each switch-it takes some careful bending and possible trimming for the tabs to hold the switches in the ZX2 locations.
Remove the door panels and take a look at the wiring for the ZX2-you will see a connector shaped like this..

I am posting the wiring diagrams but to simplify it somewhat I will list what splices to what.
ZX2 PW wiring diagram.
ZX2 PDL wiring diagram.
Cougar PW wiring diagram.
Drivers side.
Drivers side.
Passenger side.
Now the tricky part-can you solder?
I recommend solder and heat shrink all connections except the 4 wires that go from the switch to the power window motors. I soldered one set reversed so it operated in reverse and had to re-do it. For those I recommend bullet connectors that you can switch easier in case things end up reversed.
And the wiring part-what connects to what!
Listed below is two columns-ZX2 and Cougar. You should be able to follow along-connect ZX2 wire to Cougar pigtail wire.

You can see the main power wire from the ZX2-the black/white-supplies power to the PW and illuminates all the switches so you need to splice three leads into it.
The lights are powered key on so they are lit all the time.
The power for the PDL comes from the central locking module (grey and blue).
I also found that after all was said and done I had extra grounds from the ZX2 wiring-these can all be combined into one ground and it won't affect the operation.
And I think it goes without saying that you should test test test before getting everything put back together!
