Did these cars come with keyless entry? If so how can you check your car has one?

Yeah it was an option. There's a control box with an antenna that's along the passenger side c pillar/body under the plastic on the interior. With the driver door card off you can see there is a little solenoid that actuates the driver door lock. I've only taken 1 ZX2 apart personally with this option, it was a 1998 and the solenoid was only found on the driver door, I assume this is standard configuration. dareall may know more details on that than....

Can confirm my 98 has driver-only keyless entry, but I believe it was an option on both doors (though maybe not in 98?).
You can also check by attempting to program a fob by cycling the key on and off 8 or so times, be warned however I could not get my car to go into programming mode with an inverter plugged into the 12v outlet, I'm guessing maybe voltage below a certain level on the car will cause it to not go into programming mode, but beyond that I have no explanation why it wouldn't program otherwise. This led to a lot of confusion and frustration since I clearly had the security/control module in the trunk that Evil mentioned.

It's in the trunk on the passenger side behind the cloth (?) trim.

It will probably eventually get power mirrors since I already have a power mirror button (controller?) and it's plug and play.

driver door only was only available on 98. If you have a newer car and only one door works it just means the other door solenoid is bad. remote entry can be added to almost every zx2. You only need the controller in the trunk, a couple solenoids, a remote and some wiring. also, if you have 98 and have the remote entry, then you can add interior trunk release just like the newer cars have
